Camp Stories
Pathways successfully ran 3 Programs during the April school holidays in both Victoria and New South Wales, even with the restrictions and changeable circumstances that we navigated with the families to have a COVID safe experience. Many of the families had been waiting quite a while for the Camps and when they happened, there was a lot of joy and relief and value gained within relationships between fathers and sons, mothers and daughters. Our team of volunteers, Leaders and staff were welcomed back with open arms and we would like to thank everyone for their enormous support and effort to ensure the Camps went ahead this year. We appreciate all you do. The Camps for the second half of the year are filling very quickly and we feel we are back in the saddle and rearing to go again. 5 families were awarded Scholarships by our generous benefactors and individual donors. Here is what Chris, one of the mothers had to say “I feel so much gratitude for this program to exist to have the opportunity to bring my daughter on this camp and to watch her unfold in the safe, trusted and respected environment. I can already see a weight lift from her shoulders. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for helping us to attend, it was life changing.” We love to provide this feedback to those who helped and to let them know that the families are very grateful. Program participants reported increased self confidence, stronger and more respectful family relationships, improved communication, and better understanding of themselves.
Can you help in some way?
If you are wondering what you can do to help or have a little spare in your pockets before the end of the financial year, look no further. Pathways is a harm prevention charity who actively work with teenagers and families at risk, or for those wishing to enhance their relationships. We are looking for your donation, large or small, to support this ongoing essential work. Many of the funds go towards scholarships and we are working on a future permanent home for Pathways to increase the number of Camps and add more transitional Programs to be able to support communities and individuals
